4 Tips For Editing Photos On Your Phone

Winter means adventuring through deep snow and low temperatures for those perfect wintery photographs. And it means bundling up at home, afterward, to edit your favorites.

Arin Chassine shares a few essential steps every photographer should know when editing photos on their phone.

STRAIGHTEN + CROP

The first step when editing any photograph is to correctly straighten the image. Use reference points within the image. Here, the subway station pillar is aligned with the gridlines.

TONE CURVE

After the image is framed exactly how you want, edit the tone curve. Here, you can change the levels of your shadows, highlights, and mid-tones of the image to add a little more punch.
