A Short Film From Indie Grits & New T-shirts For All The Dads

Bait More Hooks, Mend More Fences,  and art that heals

From our friends at Indie Grits Labs comes Invisible Hands an intimate film
documenting a group of Mexican seasonal laborers who spend 10 months each year in rural South Carolina, doing the often hidden work of providing produce for the U.S. food supply from seed to harvest. Directed and edited by Yulian Martinez-Escobar and set at a farm in the town of Ridge Spring, this film, with subtitles, follows a typical day in their shoes.

Here's to long summer days, kind dads, and fixin' what's broken.

A teacher in western Appalachia uses art to open students' eyes to the world. For many students, a few hours of art class each week proved to be therapeutic. As we wonder what's next for education, this writer makes a case that art is essential.

Greg Jarrell remembers a visit to a Kentucky monastery and the ways that stillness and silence can help us grow. Claiming his front porch as his cloister he says, "There is much grief ahead. This is where we will stay put to weather it."

Y'all snatched up the first batch quick! We got more copies of this delightful new cookbook. Now you can fix up some of Lenora Anne's Delta Hot Tamale Balls. Call us when they're ready!
