For some lab visits, you may need to avoid seafood or skip your workout beforehand. Follow the prep steps so you’re ready.

Drink water

Start hydrating 24 hours before, and drink at least 4 cups the morning of your draw.

Bring your ID

You need your ID or driver’s license for your lab visit.

Plan to arrive 10 minutes early

Being even a few minutes late may change your status to "walk-in" and substantially increase your wait time.

Give yourself a 30 minute window

For check-in and testing your blood and urine.

Don’t pay or use insurance

You do not need to pay or provide your insurance information at the lab visit. Function has already taken care of payment.

*Lab visits in NJ and NY have an additional cost of up to $500 annually.

Nervous about the blood draw portion of your lab visit? We recommend putting on music, turning away with your eyes closed, and taking slow breaths until it’s done.
