Blu Dot’s December Newsletter

Preheader

Hey 2018. New designs, Seattle, Cooper Hewitt, LAND, and Less is More (Difficult).

We released over 20 new designs this year, and while we don’t like to pick favorites, we’re happy when you do.

We’re thrilled to have a new store in the heart of Capitol Hill. The store is anchored by a 60-foot site specific collage. Hand-installed by the Blu Dot visual team, the collage includes early sketches of products, images of prototypes, and references to music, architecture, art, and the everyday objects that inspire our work. Learn more here.

Blu Dot partnered with the artists of LAND Studio & Gallery on a special edition collection of Blu Dot pieces, which can be viewed here. All the profits go directly to the artists and gallery. Learn more about our partnership with LAND here.

Cooper Hewitt National Design Award.

Blu Dot was honored and excited to accept the 2018 Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Product Design. The awards honor lasting achievement in American design and are given in recognition of excellence, innovation, and the enhancement of quality of life. Learn more about the award here.

Less is More (Difficult).

We’ve been going at this thing for over twenty years, and it’s been a hell of a ride. We’ve chronicled all the dreaming, striving, failing, and fine-tuning into one carefully curated and designed three-pound tome. It’s the story of how we slowly earned this humbling position of making real things for real people. Published by Rizzoli. Check it out here.
