Why I have budgets on my mindThis will surprise exactly no one, seeing as I send you this newsletter every week, but I think about budgeting a lot. (I am also fun at parties.) Lately, I’ve been thinking about it even more. A lot of people, including me, are committing to doing more to dismantle racism — and contributing moneyto the fight. That means a) making sure it can fit into your budget, and then b) specifically dedicating some of your budget for that purpose. I did that exercise last week with my spending plan for June, trimming back in order to make room for BLM-related donations. I also wanted to do a better job of regularly supporting the causes I care about, so I decided to make some of the tradeoffs more permanent in order to set up a handful of recurring monthly donations. Also, I know that as the economy begins to open up again, people are going to start to go back to work, earn income, and decide how best to use their money going forward. Budgeting can really help in that situation, too. Also also, I just like talking about budgets. 😉 So this week, I’m sharing some articles to help you plan out your money in a way that works for you. Until next week, Deedi Brown
