A TIME TO SHARE
Alex Tieghi-Walker is many things: a creative director, a writer, and a shop owner (of homewares and folk art shop Tiwa Select). He’s also an expert host known for his relaxed, welcoming approach to dinner parties. So we called on Alex to ask: How do you throw an outdoor Thanksgiving dinner for your closest friends?
Alex's Small Gathering Tips
1. Prep ahead of time. “I’ll try and do as much as I can the day before. Then, once people arrive, I can cook in the garden with them so it doesn't feel like I'm tucked away in the kitchen.”

2. Give guests tasks. “The idea of giving people something to do to sort of break the ice or to make them feel that they're part of the dinner is really important.”

3. Make it feel special. “I really like thinking about how to present food when I'm serving It – that is as important to me as the food itself.”
