While we do not have all the answers, and nothing we say here can bring back the lives of those lost, we naturally want to address the crises facing our country right now and figure out our part in moving forward as one. As an environmentally-focused business, we understand that our world and humanity are complex and interconnected. What good are wild spaces, whether in cities or the natural environment, if we’re not all safe within them? From Michael Brown, to Trayvon Martin, to Breonna Taylor, and countless others, PR statements and Instagram posts are clearly not enough. So, we have been thinking all weekend about what we can do to stand up to this injustice. In addition to listening to our community and sharing this message, we have made a corporate contribution to materially support the Black-led NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. We hope you will consider supporting them too (if you haven’t already) in honor of George Floyd—who died one week ago today.
