Issue 2 – What an Up-&-Down First Few Couple of Nights

Hello Lazies.

Let the games begin! The NBA is officially up and dribbling and what an up-&-down first few couple of nights it was.

Two huge injuries to Gordon Hayward and Jeremy Lin to shatter the Celtics and Nets season. The Warriors’ opening-night loss against the Rockets was just their eighth home defeat in the past three years. The Suns lost by 48 points - at home - to the Portland Trail Blazers, and the final margin somehow doesn’t reflect how bad this performance was by the Suns.

Giannis Antetokounmpo did the #standard and racked up 37 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. But as is the case with the Greek Freak, the highlight reel was even more impressive than the stat line.

But there was 1 player that stood out for me, and that player is Eric Gordon from the Houston Rockets. The winner of last years NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award and despite coming off the bench, was the second-leading scorer for the Rockets behind James Harden.

Gordon was a key factor to the five-man unit that made a 15-5 run that closed out the game against the Warriors. It’s weird, because he didn’t even have a very productive scoring night, but finished with 24 points. 😶‍

Catch you Monday.
