Your Mac protection guide

Here’s how to neutralize possible threats quickly

Keep malware at bay

Is your Mac unusually slow, or maybe you’ve noticed strange extensions on your browser? If you suspect your computer was infected, follow these steps to wipe it out.

1. Go to Malware Removal
2. Click Scan
3. If any threats are detected, follow on-screen instructions.

Protect your data

How often do you grant apps access to your camera, microphone, or location? All of them may be exploited and used against you. To prevent that, make sure to regularly review and check what permissions you’ve granted to what apps.

1. Go to Privacy
2. Click on Application Permissions
3. Select the unwanted apps and click Remove

Clear browsing cookies

Mostly, cookies are harmless text files created when you first visit a website. They store data about what you do on that site to make sure you have a smooth experience. However, some of them are not there to benefit you but help businesses live off your data, so it’s better to disable them.

1. Go to Privacy
2. Select your Browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.)
3. Select Cookies and click Remove

Pro tip:

Don’t let any threats slip into your system unnoticed. Click on the CleanMyMac X icon in the menu bar and enable Real-Time Malware Monitor to ensure your Mac is always protected.
