Charity Water

Our love letter to your selfless generosity

At charity: water, we tell them all the time. Most often, they’re stories of people whose lives have been transformed by clean water. Communities that flourish after water finally begins to flow. Other times, we tell stories of generous donors who have hosted big events, or tiny heroes with big hearts who have traded birthday gifts for clean water.

Our team encounters inspiring stories every single day. And while we've shared a fair number of supporter stories over the years, there are so many others (known and unknown) that have made us smile, warmed our hearts, and even made us reach for a tissue — but we haven’t shared them. Until now.

We decided it was time to celebrate those who have given — a little or a lot, one time or many — without expectation of acknowledgement. People who have given simply for giving’s sake. People like you.

Without naming names, we’re sharing some of our favorite supporter stories in a love letter to selfless generosity that we’re calling Dear Anonymous.

At its heart, Dear Anonymous is a love letter to you. Whether you mailed in coins, wrote a check, or left your house to charity: water — yep, it’s a thing — we’re thankful for you and your selfless generosity. Every heartfelt cent of it.

In the spirit of selfless generosity, an anonymous donor has pledged to match up to $25,000 in donations made through June 30, 2024*. What you’ve already given is more than enough, but if you’re feeling moved by these stories, you can give today and double your impact. As always, every cent directly funds clean water projects around the world.

Whatever you decide to do, thank you for your support. Somewhere, there’s someone — or many someones — drinking clean water because of you.
