RACE: Ricciardo overcomes engine issues to beat Vettel in Monaco

Glamour. Broken dreams. A fight for power and redemption. You could have mistaken Monaco for a summer blockbuster. Despite a loss of power, Ricciardo clung on to take victory and claimed “redemption” for his 2016 loss. Slamming into the back of Hartley, Leclerc failed to finish his maiden home race. A childhood dream shattered. With a tight season ahead, all eyes are looking to Canada.

“It’s high time Verstappen learns from mistakes”

Horner’s words from Saturday seemed to sink in as Verstappen carefully and skilfully climbed the pack to finish 9th. “I did everything with a certain margin - I didn’t want to be too risky,” the Dutchman told us. But, has he finally learned? Or will his all or nothing nature be his downfall?

Ricciardo’s leap to victory gave him the redemption he needed after his loss in 2016. Esteban Ocon held 6th, with the VSC scuppering his chances to catch Bottas. A penalty for Sirotkin and two punctures for Canadian team mate Stroll gave Williams another weekend of woe. Find out who else were the real winners and losers in Monaco.

Montreal. The people might be polite, the track is anything but. Set on the Lawrence River, this 4.361 km circuit is fast, frantic and full of places to overtake. With long straights, speed is the game here. Hamilton has reigned for the last 3 years. Can he extend his lead, or will the wall of champions claim another victim?
