2021 was a time. It may be difficult to remember what happened as time has become a looser concept with each passing year, so let us jog your memory.

Wellness took center stage, with nature playing the lead role. Self-soothing and community care were essential. A growing hunger for optimism and hope for a brighter future showed itself in saturated color palettes, playful interactions, and voluminous forms. And self-aware humor permeated visual media as we collectively revealed our authentic selves.

As you can see, it’s all still relevant as we navigate 2022.

As we start the second month of 2022 commemorating Black History Month, a question lingers on many of our minds. What does this month mean? It’s personal, of course. For some, it’s celebrating our Black heroes' contributions and achievements. For others, it’s reflecting on how modern North America was built. And for many, it’s about how we show up, not just in February but in the past, present, and future.
