When conflict struck communities in northern Ethiopia, our local partner, the Relief Society of Tigray (REST), didn’t turn away.

In a moment of uncertainty and under dire circumstances, they stepped up. They walked for miles between villages with tools on their backs, sheltered overnight with residents, and repaired water projects, restoring life and hope.

They risked their lives to make sure clean water couldn’t be taken away — not once, not twice, but more than 3,000 times.
