Dear Dread,

There's only one real option here — you must enlist the help of every mouse in the neighborhood. Seriously, squash the feud for a few weeks and get the rodents on your side. The mice will act as such a horrific and dramatic distraction that your mom will simply forget all about the beginning of school. Fresh pencils, new binders, notebooks — all forgotten, left to the dust.

If you're unable to get a group of clever and dedicated rodents on your side, you'll simply have to bargain with her. Perhaps you can trade in school days for extra snacks? If this doesn't work, a good pee in the shoe will always get you where you need to go.
