💬 Can you explain why it’s important to keep your system up‑to‑date? What benefits do these updates provide, and how do they impact both security and performance?
“As information technology is growing rapidly, it becomes more and more interesting for cybercriminals. They try to find some vulnerability in the software to use it for their own purposes, while the product team strives to add improvements for the system security and stability. Therefore, timely software updates are essential for protecting your devices and your data.”
💬 What are some of the biggest trends or changes you’re seeing in the engineering field right now? How are they impacting your work and your team?
“First and foremost, it’s the development of AI which is currently explosive. However, I'm somewhat skeptical of the idea that AI will fully replace humans in a number of professions. It's more likely that it will be a tool to enhance their efficiency. When it comes to AI, our team has begun to use it as an additional tool to improve our software code and tests.”
💬 With so much information available, it can be overwhelming to keep up. How do you filter through the noise to find the most valuable and relevant updates for your work?
“To be honest, I don't consider myself an expert in this matter, as I definitely have room to grow. However, I can provide some effective methods that work for me.
Firstly, get organized with the communication channels. Unsubscribe, mute, or filter out those that won't be useful to you in the near future. Also, separate your information intake time by its types. For instance, don't check your work email in bed before sleep, and don't read news during work hours. If you get a message that requires a few minutes to respond, do it immediately. If the request needs significantly more time, add it to your to‑do list and prioritize it.”
