Upcoming changes to your account: Flexible permissions and a refreshed look

An image of three sections in Harvest that control a person's permissions. The first section shows a menu, with the Assigned People and Permissions tabs highlighted. The second section shows a screen with text that reads, 'Does anyone report to Tanya?'. Below this text is a selection box where you can assign someone a teammate. The third image shows an interface to control a person's permissions, which lists different features that a person can be granted access to, such as the ability to create and edit projects.

New permissions features help streamline work and reduce risk

Starting this week, you can opt into new permissions features that’ll help banish bottlenecks, protect sensitive information, and better support all sorts of teams, no matter how you choose to work.

What's new?

First, you can assign teammates directly to a leader or manager.

Got someone on your team who needs to report on and approve the same team all the time? With a few clicks, you can now grant them direct access to those teammates’ timesheets and the helpful reporting in the Team section. Project managers can still be assigned to projects, and now team leaders can be assigned teammates.

Second, we’ve increased flexibility.

You’ll be able to better customize a person’s access and abilities in Harvest, including sending invoices, managing estimates, editing projects, tasks, and clients, and editing teammates’ time and expenses.

If you were a beta tester, you already have these new features. Thanks for helping to shape them!

What to know about launch

From now through April 19th, any Admin on accounts with 2 or more people can choose to turn on these new features by following the prompts they’ll see when they sign in.

If you do nothing, your account will automatically receive these features on April 20th.

Please note that when you get these new features, some of your teammates’ access may change. That's because the new permissions features do not map exactly to our old features. We’ve tried to minimize the impact, but recommend checking out the blog for details.

A refreshed look

Did you notice this email looks a bit different? Sharp eye!

We’ve refreshed our look and feel. You’ll see this all throughout Harvest, whether you’re reading our blog or starting a timer. It’s a new visual design that better reflects our long-term mission of helping teams spend time wisely. Head over to our blog for the behind-the-scenes.
