When you upvote someone’s posts and comments, they get positive karma for their good contributions. And when your posts and comments get upvoted, you’ll start to earn karma too.

The more you give, the more you get—Try commenting on posts and comments with your own thoughts. If people upvote your contributions, you’ll earn karma for them. An easy way to start is to post a picture of something cool you’ve created or something unusual you’ve noticed.

Having trouble posting? You may not be doing anything wrong. Some communities only let people post if they’ve been on Reddit for a while or if they have a lot of karma.
