On your checklist of things you need to prepare for few days in nature, one you didn't account for was finding the answer to the questions your boss, your brother and some random lady on the train keep asking you, namely…What on earth are you going to do out there?
It's true, you haven't given your activity roster much thought, so keen are you to escape the drudgery of your 8 hours a day situation. But now it slithers into the back of your subconscious, this nagging question, this entreaty to figure it out before you get there, when you know the whole point of you going out is to figure it out when you get there, to stop planning every minute and (quite literally) see where the wind takes you.
But you're not entirely in the dark –You’ve heard some things from mates about waking up with the sun, cooking over an open flame. You’ve read our rambling newsletters about emptying your mind and reading whole books in a hammock. You’ve seen Instagram shots of hot showers in the middle of nowhere, hand ground coffee, endless Uno games, a missions to find the perfect stick. You think you've got a pretty decent handle on all the things you could do, should you want to draw up plans…which you very much do not.
So instead, you turn to the lady on the train who weirdly knows you're getting unyoked tomorrow just by looking at you and tell her what you tell everyone;
'I'm off to do nothing.'
