What's New in Basecamp

🙋‍ NEW: Participation Types

Now it’s easier to know who’s working on a project, and who’s just following it for updates. Some companies like to get everyone involved in projects, but others prefer to keep projects tight. The downside is that someone is always either getting too much or too little information.

Participation Type solves this by classifying people as Working On a project/team, or Just Following it.

When someone’s Working On something, their avatar will show up on the project/team, and they’ll get all notifications by default. If someone is Just Following, it’s a quieter experience. Their face won’t show up on the card or at the top, and they won’t be subscribed to the Campfire chat (although they can subscribe themselves if they want).

You can change participation type the same way you add or remove people from a project/team. Learn more →

To change someone’s participation type, press the “Add/remove people” button and use the dropdown next to a person’s name.

✍️ NEW: Campfire Text Formatting
