Casas particulares is a Spanish term, specific to Cuba, that colloquially means "private accommodations." Family-owned and operated, lodging in a casa provides insight into Cuban life while directly supporting the Cuban people and their economy. Earlier this year, photographer Maegan Gindi cycled across the island, staying at a host of different casas along the route. Her photo essay offers a colorful glimpse into this most intimate form of hospitality. |
