It all started when Shift Robotics founder, Xunjie Zhang, almost got hit by a car while riding a scooter to work.
That close call made him wonder: why not just walk?
Walking is safe, healthy, and something we all know how to do. So instead of trying to replace it, Xunjie set out to improve it.
After graduating from Carnegie Mellon’s Robotics Institute, he teamed up with expert engineers and designers to take the power of an electric vehicle… and put it into a shoe.
Five years later, Moonwalkers were born—the world’s first electric shoes that let you walk at the speed of a run.
