Cliff Coghill: Colorado’s Longest Tenured Game Warden

In honor of our agency's 125th Anniversary celebrations this year, we are featuring a story about a man who proudly served Colorado for 47 years, Cliff Coghill. Cliff had a remarkable career patrolling the Gunnison backcountry and West Elk Wilderness, commonly on foot or horseback, and played a critical role in helping elk recover in the Gunnison area while reducing game damage to local ranchers.
We’re celebrating our 125th anniversary by sharing stories of our long history of wildlife conservation and outdoor recreation on our Colorado Outdoors Online blog.
