This Friday, April 7th 2023, the price of our cool little Playdate handheld game system will go up from $179 to $199.

Nobody likes a surprise price raise, so we really wanted to give you a heads up. If you've been on the fence, you still have a little time to lock in a $179 Playdate. But, no pressure!

(We're still working through pre-orders, but our current estimate is that any orders placed today will ship at the end of the year.)

• Existing orders are not affected. If you've already bought a Playdate at $179, you're set.

• Why is this happening? Our factory recently let us know that, sadly, it will simply cost more to build a Playdate in 2023. We've absorbed a lot of increases in the past, but our margins are pretty thin and this one was too much.
