Updated Twilio Privacy Statement and Acceptable Use Policy


We’re Updating Our Privacy Statement and Acceptable Use Policy

You are our valued customer and your trust is our most important asset. We are updating our Privacy Statement effective May 25, 2018, and have also updated our Acceptable Use Policy. So, we want to let you know about the changes and what they mean for you.

What has not changed:

  • There is no change to how we use or share your personal information and your end users’ personal information.

What has changed:

  • We have updated the format of our Privacy Statement and added additional details about our data processing practices to address new privacy regulations, like the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • We have added annotations to our API docs to to further guide you regarding our handling of personal information. We hope the new format and additional details will help you make better informed decisions about your personal information and your end users’ personal information when building your software applications on Twilio’s platform.
  • We’ve updated our Acceptable Use Policy to make it more customer-friendly.

Finally, if you are using Twilio to process personal information of people in the EU, you should also execute our GDPR-ready data protection addendum, which is available on our GDPR site.
